About Us

With the vision to render specialized medical services to the people using nuclear technology, the National Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences (NINMAS) was first established in 1980 with a small extent in block-A of the former Institute of Post Graduate Medicine & Research (IPGMR). It is now located in Block- D newly constructed eighteen storied building of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (former IPGMR) campus with about 60,000 sft floor space comprising four levels (7th to 10th floor). The institute is equipped with modern state of art single and dual head SPECT cameras and capable of performing most modern scanning on oncology, cardiology, nephrology and cerebral studies. Positron Emission Tomography - Computed Tomography (PET-CT) is a newer addition at NINMAS of molecular imaging. Keeping with ever increasing importance of Positron Emission Tomography (PET), institute has established a PET-CT Division. This gives a new dimension to the endeavor to represent the institute as a “Centre of Excellence” in the field of nuclear medicine services in Bangladesh.

For the next ten to fifteen years tremendous development is expected in the field of nuclear medicine therapy and targeted radionuclide therapy, radiopharmacy, PET radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear oncology, pediatric nuclear medicine, nuclear nephrology, nuclear cardiology To meet the future challenge in the field of nuclear medicine, our target is :

1. To provide modern and latest technical services to the patients
2. Expansion of diagnostic & therapeutic capability
3. Increase of academic & Research activities and
4. Development of the Human resource

How to get service at NINMAS

A doctor's advice is needed to take any service at NINMAS. Considering the doctor's advice, appointment will be given to you. You can take that service by paying the government fixed fee on the scheduled date. However there is no fee for patients admitted in free bed in the public hospital. For the freedom fighters, all the examinations are priced at 60% less. Any other information will be available to the appointment counter or doctor on duty.

Working Schedule of the Institute:

Sunday to Thursday      :   9.00 am to 5.00 pm
Weekly Holiday              :   Friday and Saturday.

Appointment: Early appointment for each and every diagnosis must be taken from the reception counter at NINMAS
***To avoid the crowd on the day of your test or treatment, you can complete the registration by paying the fee in advance.

Schedule of Report delivery:

  I.   

Ultrasonogram (Report is delivered on test day)

  :After 3:00 pm (From the reception counter of Ultrasonogram).

 II.   

Scintigraphy (Report is delivered on one day later of test day)

  :After 2:00 pm (From the reception counter of 7th floor).

III.   

Hormone Test (Report is delivered on scheduled day)

  :After 2:00 pm (From the reception counter of 7th floor).

 IV.   

Thyroid (Report is delivered on scheduled day)

  :After 2:00 pm (From the reception counter of 7th floor or from Room No: 908).
